I rested tolerably well last night after taking Dowers Powder.1Dower’s Powder was an opium-based medicine used to induce vomiting. They relieved the toothache as well as the disagreeable feelings about the stomach. Pigeo and Nan insisted on my taking a dose of tartar emetic as they had received so much benefit from it. I did so and was much relieved. – – Bill machined a few oats this evening, ought to have machined all day.
