Rather an inclement morning. Notwithstanding, preparations were made for the departure of Bake and her retinue. Fixed them up a snack, one for Zac, who will go over in the tumbrel with Thomas and baggage to bring the buggy back. Also some loaf bread, &c for Mary. Gave Bake $40 on account of her cloak and silk dress. Sent Mary two pieces beef and some catfish. – – Also sent five old hams, weighing forty pounds to Liv to sell. – – Well it has come on to be a close, rainy day. I suppose they will all stop with Dr. Gregory. I know cousin Betsy will be so much delighted.
