A lovely day. I arose quite early this morning, as usual. Finished off my Virginia Cloth dress before light. I generally retire early and rise an hour or two early. Today and frequently, earlier if I wake, and employ my time writing, reading or perhaps working, just as the case may be. Have a cup coffee made and by that time Nannie begins to stir and sometimes she will get up and chat or do whatever she pleases. – – Hardie went to meet Ju in the field hunting partridges again. He and Zac dined with him. Bill returned to dinner. Put my last sausages in cases today. Had some cleaning up done by Martha. I spun a little black yarn and doubled them for darning. – – Nan commenced a pair of socks for Hardie.
