A beautiful day, after a very white frost last night and ice this morning. Nan set some coffee out last night for her chill and found the ice pretty thick on the bowl this morning. – – Sandy came to work after an absence of two days. – – Made green tomato sauce, after fixing mango’s and went up and spent the rest of day at Ju’s. Dinner was nearly ready when I got there. Ju was not at home. – – Called at the store on my return for Pigeo’s cloak Mr. Slaughter brought from Richmond, sent on by Adams Express from Baltimore. She is much pleased with it, fits her beautifully. Wrote a long letter to Bake tonight after reaching home. Bill went up the river to look for geese tonight. Fanned up wheat and moved it today. About 75 bushels on hand.
