The weather seasonable. After breakfast, Pigeo and I made ready for the meeting at Colosse. Got there in good time. Took Addison behind the buggy. Mr. Abell preached most eloquently today, bitter truth, which needs no embellishment. – – We returned by Ju’s a few minutes and home to supper. Met Bill on his way to the night meeting at Colosse. He returned at eleven. The subject today is the millennium or reign of Christ on earth for a thousand years, describing most beautifully the restored Eden and setting up of David’s Throne, the gathering together of the Jews at Jerusalem and resurrection of the Tribes to inherit the Lands promised to the Fathers when Christ shall descend from Heaven with a shout: when his feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives and the twelve Apostles sit upon twelve thrones judging the Tribes of Israel and all the Saints made kings and priests, operated with Christ in the peaceable reign with him when the lion and the lamb shall lie down together and a little child shall lead them. – – Quote nearly all the Prophets to show that the zeal of the Lord of Hosts would perform. – – Patsy ironed.
