I laid down and took a long nap and arose about eleven, and have been up at work ever since. The children retired about that time. Repaired a gown for Nannie, and did various other things before day, knowing how much adverse she is to mending. Pigeo and herself both are fond of making new things or of altering anything to make fashionable, but as taking a stitch in time to save nine, it has never yet been considered by them. But, it’s not too late. Observation and experience will teach them a lesson after a while. Patsy washed today.
