Saturday, 1st September, 1866

I arose this morning quite early and had breakfast by candlelight for Bill to make an early start to Richmond, but he was quite late getting off. Rode Fannie, carried Zac’s watch over to sell for best price he the can get. Carried a check of $412 to collect. – – Liv had a chill today. – – Addison had one to this morning and was in the house sick all day. Mr. Cooke dined here, and he and Zac went shooting sora. Zac has been busy all day cleaning and polishing his trunk. – – They killed 16 sora and came in to supper. Mr. Cooke spent the night. All sat up quite late. Nan was too unwell to go out at all. Weighed Washington meat for next week and Jim for five weeks.
