I never knew such a continuation of wet weather. It rains every day, we seldom see the sun. Bill came about 4 o’clk., not having succeeded in purchasing a horse. Returned the $2000. Brought the pleasing intelligence that Liv has arrived in Richmond by flag of truce. – – Horace Shook came this morning to spend a few days with us. Brought a vest for me to cut out for Ju. – – The children are getting on very well with their studies. – – I weave a little on my dress, not more than an hour or two a day, so many other things to employ my time. Had ashes put up to drip by Frederick, 3 bshls.
